Energy and Breast Cancer Awareness

When www.smiley360.com asked me if I wanted to join a mission to try 5 Hour Energy's new flavor (pink lemonade) of energy shot, I was excited and curious. I'd never tried 5 Hour Energy before as most energy drinks just give me the jitters... and I HATE that feeling. But 5 Hour Energy's new flavor was for Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I was glad to hear that the proceeds would go to Breast Cancer Awareness. I have several friends that are Overcomers of breast cancer and so it was encouraging to hear that. As for the taste, I can't really compare it to any of the other flavors since I've never tried them. It was a little more sour than I expected and almost vitaminy. But I don't figure most people sip their shots. :-) The energy that I got from it was not the same kind as other energy drinks. I never felt the jitters nor the "brain fuzz" that I get from other energy drinks. Actually, it was something that I didn't even notice unless I thought about it. I didn't feel like I'd done anything to boost my energy, I just felt like I had energy. That was nice. My only side note would be that you should eat something before or right after taking the shot. The first time I tried it, my stomach felt off for the rest of the day. It wasn't a fun feeling. Tazo Chai love

I've always been a chai tea lover. I've had it in MANY different manners: iced, hot, with cream, without cream, with honey & lemon, etc. So when Smiley360 invited me to try Tazo Chai tea for FREE I was ecstatic. They sent me samples of Tazo pumpkin spice chai and vanilla caramel chai... and I almost jumped for joy. Until I remembered I'm in physical therapy for a knee injury. So I just giggled with joy. haha The pumpkin spice chai was more authentic tasting than I expected. Some places they over do the pumpkin flavor at the risk of losing the authenticity. I didn't find this problem with the pumpkin spice chai. Just enough pumpkin flavor to add that fall flavor to it, but not enough to mask the spiciness of the chai. It was LOVELY. I must admit, I do love pumpkin spice on it's own AND chai on it's own... but I was worried about mixing the two. I shouldn't have worried. It works wonderfully! As a vanilla and caramel enthusiast, I wasn't sure what to expect from a vanilla caramel chai. Well, whatever I was expecting was blown out of the water. The sweetness of the vanilla and caramel mixed with the spiciness of the chai made for the perfect mixture. They should start serving this EVERYWHERE! If you'd like to try Tazo chai tea bags or latte mixes, you can get a coupon from this link. http://h5.sml360.com/-/7xgr I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do!

the saga of dry lips

Do you have dry/aged lips? I know my lips are ALWAYS dry.. It's annoying. I've become accustomed to lip gloss but it's WAY too sticky. So recently I've been trying lots of different lip balms. While on this mission to try new lip balms, I was invited to a Campaign on www.Smiley360.com to try ChapStick Dual Ended Hydration Lock Moisturize and Renew.. FOR FREE. I got straight to using it. So far I've been impressed with it and am trying to use it often (I have different kinds of lip balms all over the place, so I have to be intentional about using the ChapStick). I use the Moisturize end during the day to keep my lips from drying out. At night before going bed I use the Renew end. I'm not sure as of now how well it's working as it's only been a short period of time. I'm looking forward to using this ChapStick on my trip to China this week... It's going to be COLD and WINDY while I'm there. The best conditions to push it to its limits. This should be FUN. :-) If you'd like to try out the ChapStick Dual Ended Hydration Lock yourself, check out http://h5.sml360.com/-/6qpa for a coupon and more information.

blech no more!

Imagine this scenario... 7 months of dealing with a knee injury that needed surgery so I wasn't able to really do exercise other than walk. Then, miraculously, I finally had surgery. a few weeks after surgery I started physical therapy. I honestly thought my physical therapist would go easy on me considering how long it had been since I'd been able to exercise... boy, was I wrong! my workouts go for 1 - 1 1/2 hrs. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the workout. I just wasn't expecting it. And neither was my body... sometimes during physical therapy I would begin to "smell" myself. I'd never had this issue before during tough workouts so this really disturbed me. How could *I* smell like that?! EWWW!!!! But I was afraid to try a new deodorant because I have sensitive skin and have had reactions to certain deodorants. Amid all of this stinkiness, I get an e-mail from Influenster (a website that gives free samples in exchange for your honest review of the products) telling me to take a pre-qualification survey. All the questions seemed to have to do with exercise and sweat... but I soon forgot about the survey. Next thing I know they tell me to be expecting my #DoMore Degree campaign box in the mail! Excited and yet nervous (again, sensitive skin), I put the Degree MotionSense to work my first sweaty day of physical therapy. I honestly didn't notice any difference during my workout... but afterward I felt fresher. And I realized I couldn't smell anything but the deodorant. So every physical therapy session since then, I have intentionally "tested the air". There have been no more days of grossing myself out! It's GREAT! AND I haven't had any reaction to it with my sensitive skin! :-D #DoMore #contest

Childhood Domestic Violence

Recently through Smiley360.com I was asked to preview (for free) a chapter of the upcoming book Invincible by Brian Martin. All I knew about the book was that it was about domestic violence. After reading the first chapter, I'm excited to pre-order the book! It is not just a book about stats of childhood domestic violence but it gives a way to OVERCOME all the shame from childhood abuse. Although the focus of the book is on adults who grew up with abuse, I think this book would be beneficial to anyone. For the average person, it helps grow awareness of the realities of childhood abuse and how it affects a person throughout their lives. Also, if you know someone that has been through it or a child that is currently going through it, it helps you to understand their thoughts and feelings and is a guidebook on how to help them OVERCOME. I cannot recommend this book enough! For more information on the Childhood Domestic Violence Foundation, visit www.cdv.com. Click here http://h5.sml360.com/-/1688 to find out more about the book and to pre-order it at a discounted rate.

Summer Skin Care

I don't know about you, but I HATE wearing sunscreen... It's just annoying. And really, have you ever found a sunscreen that isn't super oily/greasy or didn't have the typical "beach" smell? Ummm.... don't know about you, but I need it for more than just at the beach. So when BzzAgent.com invited me to a campaign for a new sunscreen, I was slightly nervous... I know I SHOULD wear sunscreen but can't stand the greasiness. But since the sunscreen was called Coppertone CLEARLYSheer I decided to try it out. I was excited (high hopes) and nervous (too many previous let downs) about trying it out. A few days after receiving it in the mail I had an opportunity to try the cream. I threw on that cream and immediately forgot I'd put it on. Hours later, after getting home, I thought to myself,  "oh yeah, I have sunscreen on... why can't I feel it?" Yup, that was a good sign! It's scented very lightly with a citrus scent, you can't smell it after a few minutes. And there was no greasiness or grittiness from wearing the sunblock and sweating. LOVED it. A few weeks later I was going to a Dodgers game and knew my seats would be in the sun for several hours, so I decided to try the spray. I was beyond impressed. It wasn't oily at all and when I got home from the game I didn't even remember that I'd put it on. This is definitely becoming part of my summer skin care regiment!
